Asus and Lenovo are probably your best bet.
Getting them from a place like Best Buy means you're gonna end up with a bunch of bull**** bloatware that comes with their installs rather than a clean version of Windows but they are perfectly suitable for what you are looking to do. They won't run games with max graphics or anything fancy, but any gaming laptop is gonna be at least a few $100 over what you're looking to spend. Depending on what games you play try to find some sort of video card upgrade option if you can swing the extra money, these low-end budget systems can handle games but not that well once you start getting into some of the more graphic intense games.
