Yeah I dunno, I just can't get into this album. The original Ziltoid album was a perfect blend of story telling through songs, this is just a weird combination of riffs with narration, and the occasional song or chorus. The only song I really enjoyed was "March of the Poozers" and I think that's because it's the first actual song off the album. I tried both the dialogue and dialogue free version and neither worked for me. Oh well I still have Casualties of Cool and Sky Blue to enjoy. |
I agree completely. I was expecting something different than what was delivered. But, with a man like Devin Townsend, one bad album is fine when you have so many other great albums released around the same time, so it's not like a huge loss. However, it's a shame that the Ziltoid sequel didn't live up to the hype it got. I still listen to it every now and again, but it lacked the actual music.
