Sorry to burst your bubble with this example, but that was actually hook by the beautifully voiced UK singer Steve McEwan, who also provided guitars for the instrumental.
The man likes to not credit hook singers. Bugs me to death.
Bad puns aside, he actually did do all the singing on the masterpiece "Hailie's Song", which I thought was magnificent albeit he frequently hit between notes.
