I think what he's trying to say is that the MB list shouldn't be too much of a rehash of the other 1001 list. Though in all honesty, it wasn't a bad list to begin with. That being said, there's plenty of wonderful albums out there that never made it on for one reason or another (especially from the 80's onward).

I've made it a point to pick albums I think do something special within their little musical corner of the room. Usually they mean something to me in a personal / emotional sense too, but not always. Since we've all been following that line of thought so far in our respective postings, what albums wouldn't technically qualify for the MB list so far that have been posted?
