But Steve Perry without Journey is uninteresting, and Journey without Steve Perry is not Journey. Oh, sure, Journey released 3 albums before Perry joined, but they were more a fusion/ funk sound. Perry is what gave them their pop sound. They have that guy now who sounds just like Perry. His name escapes me at the moment. (no pun intended). He hits the notes easily enough, but he doesn't sing them.
