Film snobs do get called hipster. Hipster is just a lovely catch all phrase at the moment. I am guilty of calling a movie geek a hipster because of his opinions during a movie review that was basically trashing big blockbusters while praising art house flicks. It was more detailed than that but that was the basic gist of it.
