Why force people to force themselves on others?
I say hi to the people whose intro grabs me. That doesn't mean I won't get to know them later on in their forum tenure, it just means that their intro didn't grab my attention.
Who cares if everyone welcomes them? That would seem a little disingenuous to me. It would seem faked. But the natural progression of people welcoming others, when they see the post, or feel like they want to welcome someone feels like a better fit to me.
Then just,
"Hi everyone my name is Bob"
"Hi Bob!" (REALLY?)
