A lot of the missions were pretty bland but I still liked Days quite a bit, especially because I really dug the story and thought the ending was quite surprising and well done.

Oh yes, I remember that level, and it did indeed suck.
Actually, I don't think it or chain of memories was the best: I agree with you that I think KH2 was the best.

I felt as though Kojima was pandering to the fans who were disappointed with MGS2, and while it still worked perfectly fine, it just didn't have the same pull that 2 had because of that IMO.
Yeah MGS3 wasn't much better, but it wasn't anywhere near as annoying as 2 was. MGS2 annoyed me because if you tried to go back to areas that you went through previously, the enemies were back! That irritated the **** out of me, especially when you had to defuse the bombs and it took hours for me to find all of them.

The length of some of the cutscenes was just awful! Like I don't need to hear the same thing repeated like five times. I legit started to just skip the cutscenes after a few hours through the game, and I didn't have any trouble following the storyline without them.

It was just the perfect game at the perfect time.
Things I liked about Halo 2 and 3:

I agree with Halo 4 being the next best after 1. The campaign was much more a return to form than any of the prior sequels. I liked that it was more serious, sorrowful, and dramatic–especially the cutscenes and voice acting, which I thought were done really really well.

I played the campaign co-op with one of my friends (who I also played the original halo with way back in the day on Xbox) on veteran and that was just so much fun.

I really liked the level where you flew a fighter in space because that was just so new and original.

I could talk about this more but I just seriously think 4 was the next the best after 1. I didn't have any problems with the multiplayer and thought it was really fun. The same goes for Spartan Ops.
