I think if someone sent it, and didn't mean it, or it was a joke that got out of hand or misinterpreted, now is the time to stand up. If that person does not, then we can all take it that it was meant, and the sender is unlikely ever to admit to doing it.
In which case they are an utter, utter, utter, UTTER....
