Actually all that shows is that people kept their tv's on when they were hitting the buffet at halftime. The party I was at it was basically background noise. Not one person at the party thought it was a good halftime show. I do have to say they did a great job on the lighting and background it was very festive.

Thats a good point too.
It does not necessarily mean people liked it just because they did not tune out.
But the statistics above show another point as well.
It shows that people are not afraid to tune out before or during half time if they really do not want to watch it.
If 10 million tuned out of Beyonce's half time, why didn't 10 million tune out of Bruno's (if they really did not want to watch it for the majority)?
There are always the exceptions to take into consideration which you mentioned. However, I think overall people were interested in watching his half time.
