British Sea Power From the Sea to the Land Beyond (2013)

Soundtrack to a documentary on the British coast (included on a dvd in this package). BSP rework their music into a largely instrumental score that more than compliments the film. This is easily one of the group's best releases though probably not the best introductory point for anyone unfamiliar with their work. That said, I would consider it a separate entity for the band and pick it up if you enjoy a great haunting & mystical soundtrack.

Laura Nyro (and Labelle) Gonna Take A Miracle (1971)

I hadn't heard this in years before today. Laura Nyro was definitely in a league of her own. Backed by Labelle, her one-of-a-kind brilliance shines on each track, each cover that she makes her own. Favorite tracks: the title song, "Spanish Harlem", "Nowhere To Run" and the live bonus tracks, especially "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing"
