100 Albums I Enjoyed 100%

Dont'cha worry, this didn't die away with the new format, just got put on hold for a little bit, but i'm still going to finish it. I'm only at 97 so not much time was lost. Anyway, let's get right to it shall we.

#97: Myrath - Desert Call

I believe it's been a couple years since I first found out about these guys, and Desert Call was at the same time the first album I heard. I was instantly hooked. Everything about it from the prog to the cultural sounds that they incorporated into the music. I probably listened to this album about 100 times without realizing it. Probably why I have over 500 plays overall for them on last.fm. I highly recommend this album over anything else because well...it's a good way to get a good feel for what the band is about. Their debut album Hope be it not a bad way in any sense to start off their career, just falls into second place, only just. You can listen to whichever you want first. My recommendations don't really stretch too far so do what you want. I'm personally very fond of Desert Call due to this song alone. I know I said before that I wouldn't pick favorites from albums, but I can't help but mention this one:

I'm not showcasing this song because it's my favorite song off the album, i'm showcasing it because it gives you a general idea of what to expect from the band in the 45 seconds. You hear the guitar intro and it leads into the keyboard intro, all of which are consistent throughout the entire song, and the entire album. You'd be doing yourself a favor (mostly for prog heads) by listening to this album. I know it really helped me get a better feel of what different kinds of prog are out there.
