Pretty wicked album, that.
Sorne is considered a mainstay over in Austin here in Texas: last I heard he was trying to get his sophomore record crowdfunded, but not sure if he hit the numbers he wanted or not.
As for me-
Mystic Prophecy - Killhammer (2013)
Reviewed this for an online hard rock/metal magazine recently - very meaty fun & modern take on the whole power metal aesthetic pioneered by
Judas Priest, but there's a lot of
HammerFall and
Blind Guardian in here too.
Extreme - III Sides To Every Story (1992)
A terrific yet underrated album that I sort of ran into by happenstance during my random explorations, but ended up enjoying thoroughly. Rather unique sound going on here - the early 90's funk metal thing colliding head on with elaborate, theatrical songwriting straight out of the
Queen and
Beatles playbooks. Doesn't fit into any one genre box too cleanly..and that's a good thing in my book.
