I'm currently in the process of writing the most important parts up for submission to an academic journal. The two most important contributions are that 1) people's social use of music is becoming more prominent, and more importantly... 2) they do this because they want to be more of an active participant -- forming a type of partnership with their favorite musical artists and even their favorite music. Of course there's quite a bit more depth to it, but that's the most important part in a nutshell.

I should add that my current survey is also music related but not specifically to the description I posted above.
