You're might not be far off the mark there. Do you ever get the feeling that nowadays punk has stopped being an actual style of music and is now a prefix which is added musical styles to describe bands that aren't very good with their instruments?

i.e. punk-rock = a band who try to play rock but aren't very good at it
ska-punk = a band who try to play ska but aren't very good at it

And so on. Any comments?

"You're playing out of time. Who cares! We can spike our hair up, wear t-shirts and sing to 14 year old girls! Then we'll be a punk band!"
