I spent a lot of time in Cafayate which is the northern wine region in Argentina. It's in the foothills of the Andes and it's very laid back. They have this bizarre hippy culture there and it's a really great place to unwind. I was looking into real estate a few years back but their economy is awful right now. Besides wine and meat, everything else costs about 3x what it does in the States.
