-In terms of dances in general, if you have a group of friends that you like to hangout with, just go with them and have a good time.
-I don't think it's a tradition, the same could be said in terms of whether or not a woman can propose. It happens all the time.
-I wouldn't know, I didn't go to my prom. However, i did go to a lot of school dances and just hungout with friends and danced and had a blast.
