She decided to do a collection of different pop styles in Artpop. Some songs have this 80s feel to it and she shows off her vocal skills in some of the songs near the end with some minimal production so it showcases her voice more like in the song Dope.

Sex Dreams is really great and then I end up listening to Jewel N Drugs afterwards and it's slowly growing on me. It seemed strangely out of place.

I personally played out Applause too much so I skip the regular version but she has two remixes of it that I love. The reggae inspired one and I have to look up the name of the other one.
