America (United States of) (noun): One landmass, one of the largest in the World (see above)
Maybe Big Bird can explain it. Imagine the big bowl as American football (or America) and the others as "European" football, or even just the rest of the world...

there is the world baseball classic which is a tournament between countries. but its kinda pointless and not really cared about here lol.
for the bolded part i think if they are americas best then by default they are the worlds best. it would make no sense to go play the japanese league or somethin like that cause nobody is arguin anyone is better than the baseball played here
