Nah not really i don't think it ruins their cred as musicians but i do think some musicians would not do a reality show simply because it is a reality tv show..
i also think this "Star search" shows are kinda lame because even if a contestant wins and gets a record contract his fame is temporary and ppl will always remember him as the guy/girl who won that tv show that one time
