Alamo Race Track -
Birds at Home (2003)
I've posted about this band before, but they still remain pretty unknown in the indie world. For shame! This, their debut, somehow sounds like the most mature of the bunch. I think they went through some lineup changes so the vocals differ on this and the second album, versus their third, which sounds a bit more Indie Folk. But I like them all for different reasons. Anyway back to this, a slow burner that I've been enjoying for a while and just seems to get better with each listen. If you're a fan of Built to Spill, earlier Modest Mouse (meaning not
We Were Dead...), earlier The Shins, recent Arcade Fire, etc. do yourself a favor and get into this band.
