That sounds like a very good thing to do in todays society. Seriously the amount of technology is overwhelming and like you I find myself finding out information that really makes no difference to me whether i know it or not. While I think continuing the lack of technology for a long period of time is pointless and just shows a lack of self control, what you did seems very beneficial to what you do and do not need in life. I think at some point this summer I will do the same thing.
