It didn't take me long to like it. It's not a big departure from High Violet or anything but to me it feels a little bit mellower and slightly more depressing than the former. I find it their most depressing album, lyrics and just how sad he sounds wise. To anyone skeptical about giving it a listen, just do it. I was in the same boat but now I can't stop listening to it. It's not as good Boxer, not even High Violet, but it fits perfectly in The National's catalogue.
