Gayle McCormick has serious pipes of gold. If you can listen to her and not be impressed, you're probably tone deaf. The song below is a cover of the Shirelles' original hit; it's also been covered by the Carpenters, the Beatles, Cilla Black and even Ace goddamn Frehley.

Baby It's You was one of the earliest collaborations between Burt Bacharach and Hal David, the greatest songwriting team of the Sixties, with the possible exception of Lennon & McCartney.
Unfortunately, Phil Specter destroyed the original master tapes of
Baby It's You, along with the master tapes of many his other recording sessions, while running amok in one of his LSD fueled freakouts in the late Sixties. Specter's act of "creative destruction" of the original master tapes has made it impossible, even for the most brilliant sound engineer, to remaster and restore the sound of those Specter produced songs to their original high fidelity glory.
