I have A Day to Remember CD. I used to listen to it a fair bit when I was younger. They're actually quite capable of conjuring up a catchy chorus and aren't nearly as bad as a lot of the bands they get lumped in with.
I'd go as far to say they are actually pretty decent, at least their earlier material. As others have said, listen to you want, it's not up to what others think. Listen to what you like.

However, I predict if you stick around and look to expand on what you already like, within a year you won't be listening to metalcore any more.
Tastes change. You likely like these bands because as a young teen you feel you can relate to them. Do you think you'll be listening to Asking Alexandria when you're 30 years old with two kids?

I might jam to some A Day To Remember later to give a more informed opinion, it's been a while. Just checked my CD rack, For Those Who Have Heart is the album I own.
