It depends on the post.
If someone has gone to some effort with it I'll move it to the other thread.
If the post just consists of 'who likes this band' and little else I'll give them a link to the existing thread & lock it. Or i'll do this if they're continuing to start lots of new threads without looking.
Most other mods do the same thing,
