It's a cell phone company. I have heard from those who've worked there for years that they've banned things before, and just kind of let it go, made exceptions...banned them again...let it go, made exceptions.
And it's no pens because they think that we're going to write down account information and steal it. No ****. Since the ban, people have asked if they could bring in etch a sketches, magna-doodles...and the company isn't quite sure.
They did tell us we're not allowed to play a team-wide poker game. Not because it's a security breach, but because it's distracting.
One girl on my team has taken to making cats out of pipe cleaners. They're actually pretty awesome. I just try to read. There was a period of several hours where there was around eight minutes between calls, my average call being a minute and a half, so I got a lot read.
