I don't blame the teacher who suspended the kid at all. You can say she acted stupid, but I would ask why would she act in a way like this in the first place and I think the answer is obvious.

This is basically just an extreme over reaction because they're shit scared of having no power to do anything and getting sued by parents who get upset over the tiniest detail.

If you take this story the opposite way and it was in the news that a kids parents were suing a school because a kid was waving around a pop tart the shape of a gun and that their kid was traumatised by it, that wouldn't surprise me at all either sadly.

Blame the blame culture.
