I think the band are something of an enigma, they're a band I love but I can never really put my finger on why! The Perfect Element Pt1 is the place to start and much more accesible than Remedy Lane. I haven't listened to the most recent albums (they're somewhere on one of my endless lists to hear) but I know that he's French and is meant to be very good. I'm also a fan of the albums BE and Scarsick which didn't get very good reviews.

The below song is a great example that when it comes to prog, Pain of Salvation know no boundaries and even touch on disco, not many bands would be brave enough to attempt such a thing.
