I'm a member of a lot of forums, and this is probably the first time I've visited the welcome section... So hello everyone.

First post here. I'm from the Sacramento, California area (Davis to be exact)... There isn't much of a music scene here, but I'm close to San Francisco, and the bay area has one.

I'm more of a listener, and while I consider myself a Rock fan first, I am open to many genres and have taken to liking jazz quite a bit. I'm 37 and have become disenchanted with the popular music scene. I'm not a father (yet), but I feel like a parent in that I am now what many would consider old fashioned (I prefer CD's and vinyl to digital files), and I prefer what is now considered old music (musics from the 90's on back). However, I still find current artists and bands I can enjoy. Modern favorites include The Black Keys, Jack White, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, and more.

So, I hope to enjoy this forum and discover the music I've been missing.
