It's really a huge upgrade over my bong. I was in the same boat as you, but I wanted a home setup (not portable) that was affordable and good. The efficiency is the #1 benefit for me, followed by the ease of use for edibles (it decarbs weed so you could eat it raw if you wanted and it would work).
