Also... most musicians are nerds. Its only the ones that made it big are cool but so is anyone that's famous. Sitting in your room practicing an instrument 8 hours a day leaves little room for doing things that would make you cool. And knowing how to play others music doesn't make you an artist so don't think cause you can play covers it makes you interesting.
