I guess they're tougher where you are
. I haven't seen one do that but they are really good at hiding. If you try to kill/catch one and you miss they drop to the ground and disappear then re-emerge when you finally relax again.
Was sitting on the couch the other day and one crawled down my arm out of the clothes I'd just put on.
