I don't recall NME magazine hyping Empire! Empire! (I was a Lonely Estate) or anyone saying that Prawn were going to be the next big thing.
Most people just have preconceived notions about what they deem 'emo' and turn an ignorant ear to some exceptional music. Their loss.
