Prog anything isn't the greatest thing ever. Rush is more math than music because they didn't step to the mic and play what felt right or sounded good, they did the time sig math, and while I won't condem any band who doesn't play in 4/4 only, I will say that when your movements have massive switches for the sake of having massive time sig switches, even if it was so you could add new syncopation, I'd still argue that its math over music.
Do you think Keith Richards gave a rats ass about what beat got accented? Does Johnny Cash change things when its every 4? No they don't, know why, cause it sounded good and it accented the lyrics.
