Christian Scott,
Christian aTunde Adjuah. A newschool jazz record from New Orleans trumpeter Christian Scott. This is seriously awesome. It takes hints both from the old jazz that comes from his hometown, and newer genres like hip hop and rock. The guitar is rifftastic, the rhythm section frantic, and the trumpet is fantastic. Reminds me at times of Miles Davis'
A Tribute To Jack Johnson. It's only downside is its length, he should have cut it down some. That's okay though, it just means that there's more jazz for longer!
