Was cool, but not the greatest thing since sliced bread. I've never really been a fan of the whole Flying Swordsman style of kung fu movie (that whole thing where everyone is on wires, and it's all about special effects).
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was the most overrated kung fu movie I've ever seen. But, this movie had an immersive and outlandish world that was pretty awesome, and the graphic violence was pretty satisfying, so it made up for everyone being on wires. Also, all the main characters didn't seem to have any actual martial arts experience, so the fights, while bloody, always had a sort of shallow feel that never had that hypnotic, dramatic feel that a "real" kung fu movie fight does.
