Hahahh, I do that with the artists I like, too.

''Around the world'' needs to be played a few times to become good. I like Condition of the heart a lot, although it's a little odd like you said. But as I said, 1999 and Diamonds & Pearls are his easiest to get into albums. All the others are more complicated. For example, I had to listen to Sign o' the times around 5 times before I realized the greatness of the album.
And Around the world's Raspberry Barett is just a masterpiece. I don't know if you realized how good is it from the first listen. I love that song, it's one of my very favorite Prince songs.
