Summoning, Oath Bound. I was smiling the entire time I listened to this album... but not because it was really good or anything, because it was so damn cheesy! I usually don't listen to "tongue in cheek" metal, and hell, maybe this is totally serious, but it sure doesn't seem like it. I mean, atmospheric black metal with lots and lots of European folk instruments, and the lyrics are all taken from JRR Tolkien? These guys have got to be the biggest geeks of all time (aside from those nerds who play in power metal bands!

Technically speaking, it was fairly pretty music. Washes of shoegaze-esque distortion and waves of beautiful instrumentation. And the black metal vocals were quite good. But somehow, when everything came together, it was just... funny. If you all want a cheesy as hell, nerdy metal, this is the album for you!
