I don't remember exactly but from basic diagnostics we could sometimes reach the conclusion that we either needed to send an engineer if the problem was identified as originating from outside of their property, or send them a new router. I seem to remember he was pushing for a new router and naturally, he didn't get one.
To be honest I got so used to fairly stupid people that I probably didn't even have much of a reaction, other than amusement.
