I like Blondie a lot and there was a documentary a while ago on BBC3 in the UK which kind of followed the story from CBGBs up to the Hall of Fame performance.
Great story and great frontwoman.
A bold statement earlier about Blondie being the only decent female-fronted band. During Britpop in the UK, some of the 'second' tier bands like Sleeper, Echobelly and Elastica were all female fronted (and a band called Republica). All had a decent stab at the female-fronted band but success was short-lived.
I would offer The Cardigans as the nearest and most recent band you could compare to Blondie - at least in terms of being pop/guitar orientated, having some good crossover moments but also some great udner-rated tracks and albums.
