I'm gonna kind of lump these two together because I've gotten them around the same time and listened to them roughly simultaneously. I got the craving for some really dark, engulfing ambient music. It kind of makes me think about the ongoing discussion thread on long music since a significant chunk of their tracks run the length of at least ten minutes. I totally acknowledge that the sheer length of some of these tracks is not everyone's preference, but when I'm sitting around at night by myself, it's sometimes fun to throw on one of those songs like
The Blasted Plain or
Godeater and just let it consume me.
I'd also add the ending few minutes of
Haze to the somewhat short list of music that legitimately scares the bejeezus out of me. At least, it did on the first listen-through. It might not be as effective at one in the afternoon as it was in the dead of night, but I still had the lights on, and I actually had to walk away from my laptop and go to the other side of the room with my back to the wall.
