I would double down on that sentiment though I think it might be enough to ruffle the feathers of purists/Johnny Rotten-obsessives (sorry, in three years of listening to punk music, I've never gotten him!)

I never got that one, but I really want to re-visit it, because it's been awhile and I feel like the feedback it gets makes it sound like a real knockout for my sensibilities now.
I'll throw in:
Butthole Surfers - Locust Abortion Technician
Half Japanese - 1/2 Gentlemen / Not Beasts (MOST PUNK ROCK BAND EVER)
Suicide - Suicide (first band to use the label and continue to be one of the best!)
Pere Ubu - The Modern Dance (come on, dudes! 15 pages and no Pere Ubu?)
Black Flag - Damaged (another obvious one that to my knowledge no one in this thread picked? for shame!)
