Just be careful with whatever you tell him.
I was doing great at one job, great sales numbers and everything. So when they asked me to come up to a meeting, (they told something a long the lines "to get more info about the job from our newer workers"- should have been suspicious at this point since i had been there a year) I was sure it was a positive thing.
They asked me polite questions and complimented me on my performance. Then subtly asked me about company policies and my view on them. It was pleasant for a while but then it seemingly went on for over an hour.
It was 2 upper management people, one was in front of me and one behind which should have given me some indication, but i had joked with them before and considered them "work friends" i guess. Anyhow the environment in the room got relaxed and they started opening up and i figured whatever this exchange was it was finally over. One of the managers, a pleasant lady(or so i thought) then asked to be excused for one moment she just had to go to i dont even remember.
Next thing the supervisor of the entire place walks in and tells me i have been terminated for violating a company policy regarding coupons. He says they have the computer records to show that i havent been punching in the coupon barcodes manually. I tell him i've been working for a year and you've been aware of me doing that whole time,no one mentioned it. He just responds with it's against policy and fires me.
I was employee of the month and all that BS, so i think they must have suspected my drug use or noticed my change in demeanor over the year and needed a way to get rid of me.
So pretty much just don't trust anybody they lie to your face and don't sign anything i made that mistake too
