To anyone considering grad school in a research based field:
I won't say don't do it, but get ready for the emotional mind**** that is about to occur. Is it hard? No. In fact, I find classes easier than as an undergrad. Is the work impossible? Not really. So what is it then? You've got to be self motivated, you will constantly be proving yourself to your peers, your experiments will probably not work most of the time, and you will constantly be told you are not good enough (even if this is not said directly, you will think your advisors and professors are thinking it). Yes, you've proven you can handle memorizing and regurgitating facts with your undergrad years. Grad school is meant to show you can handle constantly feeling hopeless, worthless, and poor.
I need a vacation.
