Peabody passed away this morning. We brought her to the vet and when we started to drive there she started freaking out hardcore and peed on herself. I knew it wasn't going to end well. We got to the vet and as soon as the doctor put his hands on her she started heaving and having a fit. She died a few minutes later. That's terrible. I've lived with cats since I was like four years old, and I've buried far too many of them. Always terrible. My mom, my best friend, and I once actually held a Jewish funeral for one of them.

I remember that one. The part where Calvin's mom is talking to Hobbes is probably the most real moment of any newspaper comic strip I've ever read.
