That statement is too steriotypical. It's like saying that in general, black drummers are better than white ones. Most drummers have more than one style of music that they play anyways. The bigger the backround, the more opportunities you can get in your career.
Legends like Buddy Rich can easily immitate what a lot of rock drummers can do. I consider those guys the best. With out them, drumming just wouldn't be the same.
