Saucerful is pretty underrated compared to
Piper. The spacey sonic textures in particular are great, although the lyrics still need a little working on. For that I'd say
Piper was much better in the lyrical department with Syd's whimsical nursery rhyme stylings trumping the trippy but kind of empty lyrics of
Saucerful. At times I think the lyrics throughout that album were more for their feel and sound rather than their actual meaning. (Which wouldn't be the last time Floyd did that)
