I think one of the cool things about Meg White is that sometimes her floor tom and/or bass drum are tuned so that they create a more resounding sound, instead of the flatter sound they usually make (in the bass drum's case, that is). This sorta makes a bass-esque noise, so it's almost like she's filling two roles at once.
