As i said, that is just the first album listed at RYM if you look at Punk Rock. I am not saying it is the first, but was opening it up to see if anyone else would at least consider it to be one of the first.
The post was more to say I am surprised to see it has not been considered. Maybe it is not, but could play a part.
As for the lawsuit, yeah that is pretty silly. But I do not know if I would say that has much effect on pop culture either. Caribou is hardly a household name that is on the tip of most peoples tongues himself.
Has been or not, I think to people into the genre of punk, he has a claim to fame and I would rather look at what he did at the time than what he has or has not been now.
